Buckeye to LA Heights Transmission Line Rebuild


The Buckeye to LA Heights Transmission Line Rebuild project involves rebuilding an existing single circuit of 138kV transmission (power) line between our Buckeye and LA Heights substations. The transmission line route is approximately 2 miles long and begins at the Buckeye Substation, near the intersection of West Avenue and Edgebrook Lane. The line proceeds south from the substation along West Avenue to the LA Heights Substation near the intersection of West Avenue and West Hildebrand Avenue. Please see project map for more details.

This project will improve the quality and safety of an aging transmission line and helps ensure electric reliability between the Buckeye and LA Heights substations.

Construction is scheduled to begin October 12, 2020 and should be completed by May 2021.
